Raise Money For Ronald McDonald House Charities

November 4, 2013

Sturgeon Bay, WI—At the heart of community banking are relationships established between people. For Baylake Bank employees, those relationships start by helping others. Whether the need is to determine the best financial solution for a customer, providing financial education outreach in the community, or volunteering and working together in support of families in need, Baylake Bank management and staff make a difference.

As part of an annual bank- wide community service commitment, Baylake Bank staff select an organization that has a significant positive impact in our area and raise money through community events. During the past several months, more than 21 events or fundraising efforts were planned at Baylake Bank financial centers to raise awareness and financial resources for the Ronald McDonald House (of Eastern Wisconsin).

The Ronald McDonald House is a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children. Since opening its doors in 1984, more than 34,000 families have called the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee, home. At little to no cost, this home offers families the opportunity to stay together which helps their child heal faster. No one is ever turned away due to their inability to pay. In addition, more than 550 volunteers support the Ronald McDonald House offering their gifts of time, talent, and compassion.

“When your child is injured or is dealing with a serious illness, a parent’s complete focus needs to be on providing support and strength to him or her. A caring family environment that also offers comfort and support from other families dealing with life-threatening issues, is essential,” said Sally Bjork, Baylake’s Community Service Chair for 2013. “Our entire bank has been behind this great cause.”

According to Bjork, a very supportive business community has also provided donations, and Baylake customers have contributed whole-heartedly to staff efforts. From book and caramel apple sales, to staff chili lunches, every form of support has helped. “We can’t thank our customers, and neighbors enough for their support,” Bjork said.

The fundraising results will be shared at an all-staff training and service meeting held on Monday, November 11, 2013. All Baylake Bank offices will be closed that day, but we invite customers to utilize our online banking at
