Historical Highlights Baylake Bank is a state chartered banking corporation. While the history of the bank is foundationally tied to the Bank of Sturgeon Bay, (established in 1989), the bank’s charter is under State Bank of Kewaunee, which has a history of serving the lakeshore dating back to 1876. The Bank of Sturgeon Bay evolved in Door County over the course of many generations until 1994. At that time, a strategic decision was made by the board and management team to use excess capital to grow the bank. The name was then changed to Baylake Bank to more accurately reflect the geographic area covered by the organization as a merger with State Bank of Kewaunee was completed. Through de novo branching, and acquisitions and mergers with other quality organizations, the bank grew and expanded geographically. Baylake Bank now has more than $1.1 billion in assets and currently serves the counties of Brown, Door, Green Lake, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Outagamie, and Waushara. The bank also offers a full line of financial services through its website at www.baylake.com Baylake Bank has thrived by providing leading-edge financial services through innovation and quality, and focus on providing value for its customers, shareholders, and employees. This strength and success over the years provides solid testimony for the effectiveness of management, professionalism of staff, and ability to further grow and succeed in the future. 1876 State Bank of Kewaunee chartered 1889 Bank of Sturgeon Bay chartered 1994 Bank of Sturgeon Bay changes name to Baylake Bank 1994 Baylake Bank (8 locations in Door County) and State Bank of Kewaunee (4 locations in Kewaunee/Manitowoc area) merge under Baylake Bank name 1996 Bay Settlement and I-43 facilities completed; Howard location also added 1996 Baylake purchases The Bank in Manawa (2 locations – Manawa & King) 1997 West Side-Sturgeon Bay & Egg Harbor facilities rebuilt 1998 “Helping Build the Good Life” slogan introduced 1998 Evergreen Bank (4 locations in central Wisconsin) purchased & conversion to Baylake Bank completed 1998 Ledgeview facility completed 1998 Ellison Bay addition & remodel completed 1999 Waupaca facility completed 2000 King facility rebuilt 2000 Ashwaubenon facility completed 2000 Downtown Green Bay facility added 2001 Seymour facility relocated 2002 Luxemburg facility completed 2004 West De Pere facility completed 2005 Baylake City Center completed in downtown Green Bay 2006 Suamico facility completed 2010 Suamico Financial Center renamed Howard-Suamico Financial Center when merged with Howard 2012 Waupaca, King, Manawa, and Fremont offices purchased by Premier Community Bank
