Maxwelton Braes Golf Course in Baileys Harbor Now Open

PGA Golf Professional Paul Becker has renewed a lease with Baylake Bank to operate Maxwelton Braes Golf Course. Becker entered into agreement with the bank and assumed day-to-day management responsibilities for the course last summer, and will be operating in similar fashion for 2011. The course is open for play as of April 15th.

Becker was pleased with the quality of the course and amount of play at Maxwelton in 2010, and expects conditions to be comparable this year. Originally from Door County, Becker served as Director of Golf for Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straights in Kohler, Wisconsin; Assistant Executive Director of the Wisconsin State Golf Association; and has extensive additional golf course management experience.

The 18-hole golf course is part of the Maxwelton Braes Golf Resort property currently available for sale through Baylake Bank. The resort property also includes an 18,000 square foot clubhouse that contains a bar and restaurant, a 200-person banquet facility, and 12 lodging units. At this time, only the golf course is open for business.
