Baylake Bank Manager Hitting the Road to Help Cure Cancer;
Public Invited to Make Donations for Chance to Win New Bike

James DietzlerJune 23, 2009 - For the fifth year in a row, Baylake Bank Financial Center Manager James Dietzler will be biking in the Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour, a two day, 150 mile cycling event to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Scenic Shore is the largest locally planned event for the Wisconsin Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which is the world’s largest and fastest-growing voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services.

As manager of the Baylake Bank Waupaca and King Financial Centers, Dietzler is accustomed to community involvement, but in this case, he will trade his banker’s suit and tie for a biker’s helmet and shoes during the fundraising event on July 18th and 19th. The cycling tour begins in Mequon, Wisconsin, and heads up the lakeshore through Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Algoma, and ends at Potawatomi State Park in Sturgeon Bay.

Dietzler commented, “I am very excited to be part of the cycling tour once again, for many reasons. It is obviously a terrific way to raise money for a very important cause; it’s a lot of fun and great exercise; and we’ll be covering some beautiful terrain in parts of the Baylake Bank market that I don’t often get to visit. I really appreciate working for a company that supports community efforts like this, and I hope many of our customers and friends will make donations, or wave hello as our team heads up to Sturgeon Bay.”

A special feature this year is that Trek bikes has donated a new bike for Dietzler’s riding team, Team Bird, to use toward their fundraising efforts. For all donations received by a Team Bird member by Monday, June 29, the contributor will get one entry for $10, three for $25, or six for $50. Donations can be made at the Baylake Bank Waupaca or King Financial centers, or online at http://wi.llsevent.org/teambird.

“Leukemia and lymphoma are the #1 fatal cancers of people below age 35, and I feel honored to be part of the efforts to find cures, and to improve quality of life for patients and their families,” said Dietzler.
