Baylake Bank Scholarships Benefit Area Students
July 31, 2008
Several students from area high schools began their pursuit of higher
education with a $10,200 head start. Baylake Bank awarded six students with
scholarships based on the decisions of a selection committee comprised of school
officials and bank representatives. Two award recipients were selected from each
area school, including Algoma, Kewaunee, and Luxemburg-Casco High Schools.
A college scholarship of $600 per year for four years was presented at each
school, and went to: Brett Beckmann of Algoma; Rebecca Bauer of Kewaunee; and
Phillip Mercier of Luxemburg. Technical school scholarships of $250 per year up
to four years were also awarded at each school, and went to: Ryan Bouche of
Algoma; Jamie Fiala of Kewaunee; and Amanda Wery of Luxemburg.
“Baylake Bank has a tradition of helping area youth with their aspirations of
continuing education. We’re proud of our involvement and this investment in the
future of our communities,” said Julie Blaha, Baylake Bank Director of Retail.
